Hello again.
When I setup my fa311 under rh 7, there was much confusion about pci/irq's etc. I was moving the cards around, and somehow the system thought there were three nic's and one was a modem! Some PCI cards if kept powered on, remember their settings, thus the need to use a dos utility. I simply unplugged the machine for a bit, then ran windows 98 (I could see no other way out!) which setup the cards, so when I rebooted into red hat, they all magically worked. I'm not sure if it was windoze or just physically putting the cards in a different slot that fixed it. Regards jim |
Does anyone have a irq setting utility in mind to mention?? I don't have Big Brother Bills OS on this system at all, and I would like to keep it this way.
Also, I have a nother NIC card that I am considering installing, but I don't know if I should. The Nic is made by 3Com and is ISA. Would this Work?? Just Pondering Ponderously! |
Hi
If it's still not working, just try putting the card in another slot. Jim |
