Installation of Adobe Acrobat Reader in RHEL5

Hi friends

I have installed the AdobeReader_enu-7.0.9-1.i386.rpm in RHEL5.There was no problem in installing. Even I had changed the etc/profile (included the PATH).

While right clicking any 'pdf' file it shows... open with "Adobe Reader'However, it is not opening the pdf files.

Please guide.....Thanks

Hi and welcome to LQ. Enter the command "acroread" in a terminal (e.g. konsole or gnome-terminal whilst logged into a GUI) and post back the output. I also suggest you try Adobe Reader 8.x because it contains bug fixes for some problems that were in 7.0.x.

Hi

I got the following error after running the following shell script 'acroread'

Error message is.....expr: syntax error

And I will definitely try Adobe reader 8.x
