Install x86 on to amd64 ? Because of Flash

Hi, I am a linux noob. Just starting.

My question is, can I isntall 32bit x86 (K)Ubuntu on to a amd 64 bit processor ?

Reason is because there is no flash player for amd64 on linux for 64 bit.

Please help.

Yes. Both AMD and Intel 64-bit processors are designed to be backwards compatible. However, check whether the *buntu 64-bit versions are pure 64-bit or multilib. If they are multilib, you will be able to use both 32-bit and 64-bit packages. If not multilib, maybe you want to try a different distro that is.

Sure you can.

There is also no 64-bit flashplayer for Windows, or any other OS.

Yes. I have been running a 32-bit Distro on a 64-bit processor for over a year now.

SO, I can reinstall Kubuntu in a 32 bit version and then install 32 bit flash player on it and all this on the amd 64 sampron processor.

Cool.

Thank you all.
