install python
Hello i am running "debian 3.1"which i have recently installed on my machine.I have "python 2.4.2" installed but i have allways used idle any way i used synaptic package manager to install idle 2.4 but when i open a terminal and type "idle" i get this error message.
"master1@aries:~$ idle
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/idle", line 4, in ?

File "/usr/lib/python2.3/idlelib/PyShell.py", line 1317, in main
root = Tk(className="Idle")
File "/usr/lib/python2.3/lib-tk/Tkinter.py", line 1564, in __init__
self.tk = _tkinter.create(screenName, baseName, className)
_tkinter.TclError: this isn't a Tk applicationunknown color name "Black""
master1@aries:~$
My problem i think is "Tkinter" i say this because if i just use python, ie i open python in a terminal i can not import "Tkinter" which is a reall bummer as i use it all the time my python is useless without it.i have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling but to know avail, any one can help me fix this problem i would appreciate this
