Install Probs

Hi I am having alot of problems trying to intstall programs... I know it is probably me so I thought I'd ask for some help. When i try to install something I always get some kind of error, is there something I can do or have to make the installation process more user friendly? I hope so cause this is kinda starting to suck! Anyways, here is what happens when i run ./configure on most of the files I download :

assuming you're using an rpm based distro like redhat or mandrake, you need to install some devel packages. The last one looks like you need to install X related devel packages. You should also install autoconf and automake as they seem to be not installed.
