Install problem Koffice + Mandrake

I have just installed Koffice on Madrake 10.1 using the Control Centre. All applications appear in the GUI menu but when I click on them the hour glass runs then stops - absolutely nothing happens. I tried running an application in a terminal and got this error message:
kword: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkofficecore.so.2: undefined symbol: _ZN11KMainWindow7setIconERK7QPixmap
Can anyone help?

Have you rebooted or at least restarted KDE and then tried to run Koffice? Sometimes a KDE daemon doesnt get killed properly after an install and a lock results.

Yes Ive tried both of those options - no result. I used to have Kivio installed from the initial installation. I liked the look of some of the other packages described on the Koffice web page and so decided to install them from the web. I think I must have zapped something in the process. All the other KDE programmes (non Koffice) such as Kontact, Korganiser and Konqueror are working fine. Ive tried uninstalling using urpm from the shell and reinstalling from RMdrake but to no avail. Thanks for your reply.
