Install OO in KDE-Menu?
Hi there!
I'd like to know, if and how I can tell OpenOffice to install and put itself into the KDE-Menu ... Or is it an error, whe nthis does not happen on my machine??? Greetings, Sascha |
Install Open Office as per the instructions.
Unfortunately, you will need to add the shortcuts to the K-Menu manually. Simply right click on the K-Menu, and select K-Menu Editor. Then add a launcher where you want... I hope this helps --Ian |

Thanks, but... Too bad... this is what I meant! I wanted to get rid of adding them myself.... did it this way before and I am bored of doing so. Greetings, Sascha |
If you install OO as root, it will put [by default] k-menu shotcuts in kde but only if kde is started as root.
So you have to install OO as user and start kde as the same user. This way you'll have your oo shortcuts. |
If you install OO globally and then do a "network install" into your home directory, openoffice usually creates an entry into your KMenu.
