install Linux problems

I don't get it. I'm trying to install Redhat linux from cd's.
I have before. I have a 6 gig hd and 2.5 is used for windows.
I setup appropriate pratitions for Linux. specically over 2 gig for root, 50 for boot and 256 for swap.
It starts saying transferring install image to harddrive and than it eventually comes up and says it can't install the image to the harddrive I'm probably out of diskspace "when I'm not".

I think you are really out of space. Are you really using only 50 megas for the boot partition?
Take a look at this partition tutorial:

http://www.linux.org/lessons/beginner/l2/lesson2c.html

From there you can have more or less an idea of partitions sizes...

Good luck.

I had it setup before on the same hd. I should be able to get it installed on a 6 gig hd. I thought ROOT is the one that has to be the most diskspace so I put over 2 gigs for root, 2ce my ram for swap and heard you don't really need much for boot.
I'll check out the link.

Yeah, you do not need much for boot. But if you plan on serving webpages or recieiving mail, then you should think about making /var a slight bigger than 50mb. Also, I agree with megaman, you are out of space, and you were running kind of close to the limit with the specs that you said. Bear in mind that your drive is not 6gig, but prolly 5.4gigs or something like that.
