Instability with Opera 6.02

Hello all!
Since I've 'upgraded' to opera 6.2, I've been experiencing a LOT of instability problems. I would surf the net as I normally do (no multimedia/java, just userfriendly.org, LQ, /. etc.) and then all of a sudden it crashes IE style. It either just freezes, or it 'disapears' as if its been killed/segfaulted.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've been using Opera on Linux since 6 beta, and I am sad to say that the BETA was more stable.

I have been using opera 6.02 quite a lot during the last week. I have not seen any crash as yet. Coming to the crashes that you have seen. I am making a guess. In case you are using a shared lib version of Opera, there may be some incompatibility of the opera executabe with the shared libraries in your system. If that is the case, try downloading the statically linked version of Opera and see how it goes.

I have opera 6.01 installed and experience - only rarely - also crashes of this type. It seems that this problem is not Version specific

Hi!
Yea, the last version I used before I 'upgraded' was 6.01, and it crashed MUCH less, only once a week or so. With 6.02 it crashes *every time* I use it.
I'd suggest that you refrain from upgrading for now at least..

Good Luck!

I have Opera 6.0 beta and I never saw any crash yet

Only few bugs about $%%*%$ bad plugins, but that's not Opera fault, I believe

I really like this browser... I like it so much that I will not try to "destroy" the boring apps windows
