The inetd.conf file is on older versions of linux, and xinetd.conf is on the newer versions.

xinetd.conf is in /etc folder. If it it not there install xinetd.
Installation command "yum install xinetd"

inetd.conf and xinetd.conf files are missing
 
I have linux-2.6.18 installed on my machine.I want to setup a cvs server.I find that I don't have both inetd.conf and xinetd.conf in my machine.Can I get the rpms from some source?Thanks
