improving indentation in Kate

I've been using Kate for most of my development lately, but the lack of any intelligent indentation is killing me. I'd love to see it automatically indent after I type a {, and unindent as I type }.

Is there any simple way to improve Kate's behaviour? I looked into creating a plugin, but I'm not familiar with KDE dev.

Thanks,
Justin

It works fine for me, but then again, I am using KDE CVS and there have been lots of updates to KATE. KATE seems to indent my CPP and C files ok. I think there is now an option to set the indentation style as well.

Oh yeah? Which branch are you using? Do you know if it's possible to compile only Kate, rather than all of kdebase?

I am using the CVS version thats going to be KDE 3.4 currently tagged as beta 2. Theoretically it's possible but frankly speaking, I think you will need the new kdelibs. Take a look developer.kde.org, they have info on how to install just one module from CVS.

Alright, I'll give it a shot.
