Importing WordStar6 and WordStar for Windows documents?

Having finally made the conversion from Windows to Linux myself, I'm now in the middle of the much tougher task of getting my aging father completely converted. It's gone surprisingly well until I hit a severe bump in the road.

The only editor he has used in the past 15 years is WordStar for DOS and WordStar for Windows. Having googled the internet for import filters for both Windows and Linux I've found none that actually work.

Does anyone know how to import/convert old WordStar and WordStar for Windows documents to OpenOffice .odt format or PDF or RTF or anything that any slightly modern word processor is capable of opening?

There is an import filter available for Microsoft Word, but of course it doesn't work...

None of those filters function.

The DOS ones should if run under dosemu, and the Windows based ones may if run under wine. Open Office doesn't have import filters like Star Office does, but these are for Windows only - so wine again?

If your father is used to using WordStar for DOS, why not instal that and use it under dosemu? WordStar for Windows may not run properly under wine yet though.
