If you have trouble with remote X session
I found the solution to the remote X problems gentoo users seem to have.
I used to use slackware and exported the display in this manor:
xhost +
ssh RemoteIP
export DISPLAY="MyIP:0.0"
GUI-Application
and the application being run on the remote computer would appear on ym screen.
I switched to gentoo & xorg and that stoped working, I posted the question on linuxquestions twice, as well once in the gentoo forums. using google and linuxquestions I found MANY people have this problem, primarily in gentoo. I gave up cause while I could find a lot of people withthe problem I could not find anyone with the solution. However while working with an X server configuration for multiple users on a single system I found something that made me think. the X server flag: "-nolisten tcp" I looke din my startx script (gnp `which startx`) which finds the path to the startx script and opens it in gnotepad (replace gnp with your text editor of choice) and sure enough that flag was listed as a default for the xserver, I removed it and everything works again.
weather or not you use startx I do not know, but if you have problems with exporting your display make sure the flag -nolisten tcp is not in your X configuration or scripts.
Hope this helps people out there.
