Idea (musing) for a new distro -- xLinux
Well, I've been thinking about this for a while...and I've wondered why such a distro hasn't been created yet..
The idea is as follows:
Most distributions are available on the web, and can be 'net-installed', by FTP, or some other system.
Wouldn't it be great to have a 'faceless' distro, on a single CD that could morph into any distro you wanted?
You would boot up into an ncurses style interface, enter in your location or select it from a list, connect to the xLinux site DB after configuring your network card, select a distro/mirror, download an installation module, and then proceed to install whatever you like, exclusively via the web!
This seems great in concept. But would you people actually use it if somebody went through the effort to create it??
