id3 tags don't seem to appear

I recently performed a clean install, and all of my mp3 tags seem to have vanished, "sort of". Basically, I opened rhythmbox and reimported all the music I had backed up. It all appeared, but there were no tags. So, I googled, and found easy tag, which can make tags. It detected all the music, and I hit save, and it went on about asking if I wanted it to overwrite tags. We'll, it did its things, and, still no tags in rhythmbox or nautilus, although banshee is somehow able to sort the files correctly. Needless to say, I'm very confused. If anyone could tell me whats going on, I'de appreciate it.
