i really need help on my sound

hiya i recently turned on my laptop the other day to find that my sound is not working. i am currently using an ibm thinkpad laptop. i dunno wht has happened ?? can someone please help.

Did you have sound the last time Linux was up?
HAve installed any new apps or did any updates?

no it has not been working for about 1 weekand i have put an anti malware on my laptop as i got malware, thats the only new thing ?

More info about your system can help find an answer.
What distro are you running?
What is the soundcard model in laptop?
What module does it use?
Which model thinkpad is it?
