I need help, I just got linux mandriva 2006 and I need program to talk to people. I just switched from windows to Linux. If u guys could help me, give me some idea where to go and d/l aim or gaim for linux that would be perfect. Thank you and sorry for stupid question.:/

Gaim was renamed Pidgin. I think it was for legal reasons.

That's the way I understand it too. AOL expressed "displeasure" with the name GAIM. I forget what the article I read said GAIM actually stood for but it was in reference to AIM.

Kopete is another good, feature-rich messenger.
