I need a new GNOME cause my currently one doens't work
 

Hey is there a new version of Gnome out there cause the one that came with my redhat 7.1 system doesn't work .... at all and never worked since i installed it. When i try to use the Gnome desktop it, goes through the normal process but the task bar is flashing badly so there is no way to logout or use the xterm to do anything then i have to force reboot manually....(its completely rididculous) HELP

Gnome 2 is due out...at some time in the future. Apparently it's not too long now, but in the mean time, if you've got the bandwidth/patience, you could go for RH7.2 - RH7.1 was broken in many, many ways (the daftest one was the GCC...not a good thing to have break on a fresh install of a new distro...doh!).

Alternatively, there's Ximian Gnome...never tried it, so can't say much.
