I need a good photo slideshow program

Hello, I want to be able to show photo slideshows, but I have a few "requirements" that I don't seem to be able to find.

1. Start slideshow from command line (so I can auto-start it when the computer boots)
2. Be able to have a 10 second photo interval, but if the user presses the left or right key to go back or to advance the slideshow, the photo stays on the screen for a longer period of time, like 30 seconds. It then resumes the slideshow

-Thanks for any help. The second requirement is more important and I have a feeling it will be harder to find

I don't understand 1. You can easily start any program through autostart. In the Ubuntu variants, just open System/Preferences/Startup Programs, and add the one you want. It will be started automatically at boot. But you can start any program from the terminal if that's your preference.

Yes, you can autostart any program, but what about have it autostart in slideshow mode. That's the part I don't know how to do.

I get the feeling you can do that with openoffice presenter.

For Gnome image viewer (Eye of Gnome):

Code:
eog --slide-show [path-to-image-files]

Which doesn't even have a Linux version.

The fact that this spammer replied to a year-and-a-half-old thread just to post a product recommendation is a hint too.
