I am getting sick of having to reintall suse 10.1 (which works well) everytime I have to reinstall windows xp (which does not work well) which is almost every six months. I also run all my OS's on seperate hardrives, not different partitions of the same disk. Is there a detailed guide, or could someone tell me, how I can reinstall windows xp, step by step and reinstall grub (keeping in mmind my hardrives are seperate disks not partitions) so that my perfectly configured suse is not affected adversely ?

any help greatly appreciated.

Easy - kinda - just do the Windows Install .

That will of course overwrite GRUB & just boot into Windows .

Throw in the SuSE CD/DVD & choose "Other" after you have choosen "Installation" at the prompt & then choose Manual Repair & .. then .. Bootloader Reinstall .

Or boot into SuSE from the Install CD/DVD which is of course still on the disk & do the Bootloader reinstall (possibly command line) that way if the DVD/CD one doesnt work .

Or of course there should in also be the option of entering the boot path into the Windows boot loader .

That is AFAIK under System -> Performance or close that .
