I Installed Office 2003 In Ubuntu, But It Installed All Apps, NOT Some

Hi, guys! During installation of MS Office 2003 in ubuntu 8.04, a window popped up giving me an option to install only the programs I wanted like, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc. I only chose Word and Excel. However, when the installation ended, I ended up with ALL of the apps of Office. I tried to uninstall the uneeded apps without success. How do I uninstall the uneeded apps?

Hi davidx,

I am assuming you are installing under Wine. I have experienced exactly the same problem. I wanted to experiment with Visual Basic programming in Excel and wanted to install just that app. Even though I just chose Excel, Office installed everything. Now I can't uninstall any of the individual apps and I can't uninstall Office. grrrr...

I have not tried this myself, but I have been told that Crossover from CodeWeavers might resolve this problem. (Of course that's not free, so you will need to be prepared to invest some money as well as time in this potential solution.)

Another source for information would be the http://winehq.org site.

Larry.
