I Fail At Setting Up A Boot Loader

Lately, I've only been using Mandrake Linux because it sets up my bootloader for me, which I'm not quite sure I can do. I can partition out space alright and all that fun stuff, but I tried to set up my own bootloader while installing Fedora Core 3 along a Windows partition, and when I restarted after installing, it turned out that I had told it the wrong partition to boot to get into Windows (or something of that nature). I never did get it fixed.

Anyway, can someone give me a very simple guide to setting up my bootloader? I'm asking because I'm preparing to install Fedora Core 4 alongside my current windows partition.

Grub or Lilo?

Edit - Grub. Sorry.

If Windows is in a partition on the primary boot disk (i.e. the disk the BIOS selects to boot from), the Fedora installer should recognise it and set up the config file for you.
Same as FC3 should have.
Just take whatever option(s) the installer suggests. Even back in the RH9 days this worked (last time I used a RH installer).
If windows is on another disk, you'll have to set it up manually, but it's pretty simple - just ask in need.
