When I want to install a new printer with control panel, I am told that "/dev/lpt0, /dev/lp1 and /dev/lpt2 do not exist, hardware problem".
MAKEDEV lp appears to make them without errors, but afterwards I still get the message "no such device".
I have tried "par" devices, with the same results.
My BIOS Plug&Play option is "off" (I have read something about it).
Should I reconfigure the adress and the interruption of the port, with insmod?
I have Red Hat 6.1, kernel 2.2.12-20.
