i can't install the jave runtime environment

i am running SuSe at the moment, i've downloaded the linux jre off but i can't figure out how to install it, Yast opens but does nothing, and when i tried downloading the self extractor that wouldn't work either!

Any help wouuld be greatly appreciated. thanks

There's an installation instruction here:

at Sun's page. It can be very tricky to install it sometimes .

Java Setup

what version SuSE is it. first make sure that java isnt already installed. by typing "java -fullversion" without the quotes..
