i can't compile mplayer (after installing divx and xvid)

i've uninstalled mplayer using:

# make uninstall

after that i've installed DivX4Linux and XviD. now i've downloaded MPlayer-1.0pre3. i unpack it and enter just created directory. now i configure source. well i want to to have mplayer with the following configuration:

*MPlayer non-GUI (well i didn't use GUI anyway)
*DivX
*XviD

i speak polish as my national language therefore polish language in MPlayer'd be handy (in addition it is supported).

i try configuration with the following options:

./configure --language=pl --with-win32libdir=/usr/local/lib/win32 --with-xvidlibdir=/usr/local/lib/

well as i've mentioned i've already installed Xvid and DiviX. after configuring MPlayer i compile it, at least i try. well an error appears and compilation is immediately stopped! it is something with xvid (ve_xvid.o or so). when i disable xvid support during configuration, compilation also stops, but showing no errors at this time. well i guess it stops not finishes since when i try to install MPlayer using:

# make install

installation doesn't proceed! it shows an error (something like no binary files found or so). what should i do. i cannot watch any anime without MPlayer
