Consider that 512MB is less that the content of a liveCD. Trying to get Fedora squeezed into such a small space is quite a challange.

You might try re-mastering a liveCD; trim away applications not required to make a bootable cd (such as OpenOffice.org and other applications) to get the finished size within the 512MB boundary.

Then burn that to the compact flash.

Then , is there a another way of creating an image which can be installed on a compact flash....?
What are the important steps which need to be followed while ceating an image.
Do we have to modify the exisitng kernel ?
