Hyperlinks open a new Firefox tab, but do not render page
I have a HTML file with all my favourites. This has worked for years but recently it stopped working. If I click on a link then firefox opens a new tab, puts the URL in the location field, but then does not render the page. If I click in the location field and press "enter" then the page is rendered. This isn't a problem with links from other pages - just my page.
I thought it was something corrupted in Firefox 2, so I removed it and installed Firefox 3 but the problem remains.

A solution
I removed the .mozilla directory in my home directory. Then when I restarted Firefox I had lost all addons and settings, but the hypertext links from my local file worked correctly.
