Hwinfo RPM for RHEL 5 or Centos 5 /6

For a audit script that I use, I need a hwinfo RPM for RHEL 5 or Centos 5/6 that works (Opensuse ones do not work). Is there one which anybody knows about?
Thanks,

hwinfo is a tool specific to OpenSuSE. You can try to build a CentOS RPM using the Source RPM provided by OpenSuSE (e.g. hwinfo-18.3-1.2.2.src.rpm).

Unfortunately, it does not compile. I already tried that. It uses a ioctl specific for opensuse kernel- which is obviously patched differently by redhat. If only every distro vendors use a standard kernel.

I successfully installed hwinfo on a CentOS 5.6 machine:
Code:
# uname -a Linux ocean-9.univpm.it 2.6.18-238.12.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue May 31 13:22:04 EDT 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I've downloaded the following SRC packages from OpenSuSE 11.4 repository:
Code:
libx86emu-1.1-10.1.src.rpm
hwinfo-18.3-1.2.2.src.rpm
and I installed perl-XML-Parser and perl-XML-Writer through yum to satisfy dependencies. They compiled without a glitch. What is the error message you got?
