Huge performance issues with Maya 8.0 on Feisty
Well I decided to finally install Maya so I could finally ditch Microsloth's Winblows alltogether. I originally used maya 6.0 on windows for educational purposes but quickly switched to 3Ds Max due to the availability of tutorials and popularity. Now here I am trying to use it on Linux now and it is sooooooooooooo freakin' slow!! From basic stuff like switching tools, manipulating primitives (moving/scaling) and it's killing me. My system specs are:
Acer laptop with
MK-36 AMD CPU
120 GB HDD
1 GB DDR Ram
Ati Radeon 1100(X200?) graphics card
Distro: Kubuntu Feisty Fawn7.04
Anybody know what could be causing this and a solution?
