Angry http config program doesnt save and exit!!!

OK well ive been using Linux for over a year now, so im comfortable with it and everything, but there's one problem i just cant figure out! And if u respond, you can use the fancy Linux lingo, im not a newbie so ill know what you mean

When i go into the panel > Settings > Server Settings > HTTP
the httpd config window comes up and i can edit and everything, but when i click "Okay" it asks me if I want to save and Exit, i click yes, and NOTHING HAPPENS!!! it just stays there and does noting, forcing me to lick "Exit" and lose my changes! The config file remains untouched after my editing in that program, and when i edit the config file manually, my changes dont take effect!!! Like i said, ive been using Linux for over a year and NEVER had a problem with Apache, so whats going on???
