Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I'm kind of stuck here.
I installed slackware 9.0 ono my laptop and seem to experience the following problem:
On certain sites (e.g. google.be]) I have very big fonts. E.g. after doing a search all the items found are regulat size, but the below the 12345 are very big compare 12 px with 52 px. At first I thought it was simply a mozilla problem, so I tried firebird. Guess what? Same problem. First thing I tried was reinstalling both browsers and using opera. No help. After that I started to reinstall XFree. No help. Reconfiged my XFconfig to NOT using fbdev. Still no help. recompiled the kernel 2.6 no help (though it runs great on my desktop. I was starting to getting used to it, when after installing gkrellm I noticed that the fonts also sucked in it. Way to small (3px maybe?) All the problems seem to have the same origin, but I don't seem to figure out what. I tried using the xfs , no help. What did I oversee? All help welcome. Gkrellm is gtk based.
