Question .htaccess error

Hello everyone, im having troubles to setting a directory protect, i was looking into the forum but i didnt found anything like this.

The problem is the .htaccess directives are not working at all so i dont need put the user and pass to browse the page.. here is my config:

.htaccess:

AuthType Basic
AuthName "Restricted Area"
AuthUserFile "/Path to the file/.htpasswd"
require valid-user

The .htpasswd looks fine the the user and the hash and is the apache 2, there are something what i should config into the httpd.conf

Thanks in advance any tip would be very helpfully!

Guille

Probably you need to specify that .htaccess is not ignored. For that find a <Directory> entry for this dir (or any its ancestor) and specify option AllowOverrides. Read manual on httpd.apache.org for more information.
