[SOLVED] HP 3050A Scanning problem

Just recently installed, well actually reinstalled since scanning problem occured on last install to, HPLIP for the HP 3050A Deskjet. "Computer Not Found. Ensur Now, I am not able to scan anything to my 'Pictures' folder. However, I am able to print from both LibreOffice and from the internet. What gives? Anybody have any ideas?e HP software has been installed on the computer." Downloaded the HPLIP from HP's website. Is that the same as installing from a CD?

it can be a permission-problem. Try

scanimage -L

as root which should work if the device is connected via USB. If it shows the device, check the groupmembership of you user. If you have a multifunction-device, the user must be member of the lp and scanner groups in order to use the scanner.

If this doesn't help. please describe your setup in more detail.
