Everytime the Azureus tries to run its update for what ever reason it can not due to permissions. How do i get around that issue?

chmod -R a+rw /azureusdirectory .
Azureus directory might be /usr/share/azureus
try
Code:
dpkg -L azureus
to locate it.

Code:
p4ssmahome:~# dpkg -L Azureus
Package `azureus' is not installed.

Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.
p4ssmahome:~# dpkg -L azureus
Package `azureus' is not installed.

Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.
...

found it here i think:

Code:
ls /home/ray/.Azureus/
active downloads.config shares trackers.config
azureus.config filters.config tmp update.log
azureus.statistics logs torrents update.properties
dht plugins tracker.config updates
ray@p4ssmahome:~$ su -
Password:
p4ssmahome:~# chmod -R a+rw /home/ray/.Azureus/

How and where did you install azureus??
If you install it with apt-get the command is case-sensitive i believe :
Code:
dpkg -L azureus
Your .Azureus preferences' directory has nothing to do with your installation directory.
If you have installed azureus without apt-get you have to find its location.

IIRC i did not use apt-get as i could not find the respository for it so i grabed the .deb off of their site.

if you used a deb and actually installed it, the command dpkg -L azureus should return something. If the package name has changed you can always look for it in synaptic or use
dpkg -l|less to locate it.
