howto load rfcomm module?

I am running Ubuntu 4.10
Well, after reading this howto I thougth it was time to get my hands on bluetooth. Through the Synaptic Package Manager, I installed bluez-cups, bluez-hcidump, p3nfs, bluez-pin and bluez-utils. I beleave these packages somewhat have the following packages, as required by the howto, bluez, bluez libs, bluez apps, and p3nfs.
All packages installed successfully.
According to the howto, I should load the rfcomm module first, but I don't know how to do that. How to load this module, rfcomm?
I don't know weather the following lines will be any useful you:
root@ubuntu:/etc/bluetooth # hcitool scan
Device is not available: Success
root@ubuntu:/etc/bluetooth # ls
hcid.conf pin printers.conf rfcomm.conf
please help
