Howto get qemu Windows XP guest to join a Samba domain?
I'm running Debian/Squeeze on my desktop and have installed a qemu virtual machine (actually the qemu-kvm fork) with a tap interface to the network. The guest operating system is Windows XP. It can see my Samba shares and connect to them but I can't get the virtual machine to join the Samba domain (Debian/Lenny server).
Because of this, I also can't log on using a domain user account - just local accounts - which means that I have to manually reconnect to a share (to establish my credentials) in order to get access to the network resources. Any ideas on how to get a virtual machine to join a domain? |
Not a networking question, moved to Linux - software.
Clearly the fact that it is a virtual machine has to be irrelevant here, it's just a windows machine. if you have network shares working at any, then surely the networking is just fine. TBH, if you're using a NAT interface then that could be an issue though. Always used bridged networking if you can. |
