Pay RedHat your subscription and then download whichever version of RedHat you require.

Alternatively use CentOS instead.

Or use Scientific Linux which honors the Redhat Security Bulletins. Centos does not.

well 5.5 is 5 versions OUT OF DATE !
the current older LEGACY rhel5 is RHEL 5.10
but unless you MUST !!!! use the older rhewl5 for LEGACY software and old hardware ( 10+ year old hardware)

it is advisable to BUY !!
-- yes buy $$$$$ the redhat support contract for RHEL 6.5

or

install the FREE rebuild of the redhat code
CentOS 6.5

PS.
Centos ONLY !!!!!!!!!!
is supporting CentOS 5.10 and 6.5

cent DOSE NOT support the old CentOS 5.5

Maybe we could put all the standard responses info on a post/sticky/blog or something and just answer with a link instead of going through the same stuff over and over again?

Actually, if it were my call, before even allowing a post i'd check the title for key phrases and offer up auto answers,. sort of like reddit does.

i still think most of these type of posts might be poorly codded chat bots

or someone doing a "Mechanical Turk " posting

or ( let me put the tin foil hat on)

OUR AI ( alien- as in UFO / outer space, reptilian shape shifters ) overlords are testing us and this is the "cheese" in the maze
