How to use proxys on linux. Advice PLS.

Hello again, I'm back with another question.

How can I use programs that dont support proxies on linux?
Like telnet, nc, etc... On windows I used Sockscap and various
others. For linux all I can find is Proxychains which has failed
to work thus far.. So does anyone know a way of achieving this or
another application maybe?

After an hour or so of google searching I found "runsocks" rpmfind.net, but the man file isnt very manly. Has anyone here ever used "runsocks" if so could you post an example of a libsocks5.conf file?
