hi

i have download a new version mysql which is in .tar.gz format
now the problem is i have already mysql running on my computer and i want to uninstall it. it was from a rpm package. when i use rpm -e mysql it give me an erro that u cannot uninstall mysql because it is needed by some other processes. i have stopped mysql still it gives me same error.

this is one problem. the other problem is how can i uninstall a program which i have install from binary source. to install and uninstall thru rpm is most easy way but using binary source is typical for me. can any one tell me how it will be done.

or uninstall option in make(make -n install or something else)


if nothing is available
u have to locate files manually and delete them..
(i just leave them..--

Too uninstall porx build from source in the dir where you have the source code, write "make distclean"
