how to take backup in LVM

I have 2 x 500 gb hard disk. But LVM shows 1000gb. LVdisplay shows the volume numbers.
I would like to know when CentOS is installed by default. It's installed on 1 disk and other disk is left spare.
Now if I want to copy the content of 1 disk to other disk as backup how can I do that?
Thanks

it sounds like your install/configuration used both disks for your LVM's VG
pvscan should show you what devices/partitions have PV metadata and which (if any) VG they participate.

hope this helps.

that could be "fun" you will need to resize the LVM ( i hate LVM by the way)
if at some point you need to reinstall DO NOT USE THE LVM
it gets in the way of everything
