How to switch beetween sound cards ?
I have two sound cards. One sound card came with my motherboard. I bought the other in order to connect 5.1 speakers.
Long time ago, I was using alsaconf to choose witch sound card I wanted to use. And I was able to switch between the 2. And it was working pretty well.
I didn't really touched it for years.
Unfortunately I had to reboot (with a new kernel etc.), and now the sound is displayed on the internal chip (on the mobo). How can I tell alsa to use the other sound card ?
Is there a way to do this without a reboot (someone suggested to change settings in BIOS, but well...).
Thanks for your answers.
After posting the previous post, I saw this tread in the related threads : http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-lenny-743016/
Long story short, I'm not sure what I did (:/) but it works now.
Maybe it was the modprobe run once again.
I hope this won't fail again...
Sorry for the noise.
