How to stop newly opened window from getting focus

Hi all,

I want to know how I can stop newly opened window from getting focus. The situation is that an automated software testing suite has hundereds of tests each one opens a copy of the application and runs it in batch mode. Each time a new instance is opened it takes focus, and I can't do any work, while this is going on.

HELP, thanks
B

First, try the automated testing application to see if there are Settings to set in either config or options to select/deselect 'window gets focus on open' or some such notation.

Second, try your desktop environment to see if there is a Setting to select/deselect to prevent windows from getting focus on open. For example, Kde has a Window Behavior setting 'click to focus'.
