How to start Linux installation from floppy?
I just got a super computer (Pentium 100 MHz) that does have a
CD Drive, but can't boot from CD. Support is not built into BIOS. I was wondering if it was possible to start linux installtion from a floppy. If yes, how? TIA, |
Depending on the distro you are using, there is normally either a separate boot-floppy image you can dowload or you can get one off of the install cd and use the DOS RAWRITE utility to make a boot floppy.

Well, I have boot floppies, and can always created one if I
wanted. However, once you boot from a floppy, how do you start installation? Is there any program that one needs to execute? Also, using a boot floppy, it is possible to install FreeBSD? |
The FreeBSD site has info. on installing with boot floppies here:
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...stall-pre.html At the bottom of the page. j. |
