How to simply make/join a domain
 

I want to either make or join a domain. I do not know how to do either and would like to know which is easiest. Thanks.

This is vague, and in a way, doesn't make sense. What's the point in MAKING a domain, if you don't JOIN any machines to it later?

Also, what kind of domain are you talking about? Active Directory/Windows domain? Hosting your own domain name on the net? NDIS? LDAP? Kerberos? And what machine(s) and OS'es are you talking about doing this on? Windows? Linux? Mac????

Sorry if my questoin was a little, or very vague. Basically I have a Windows 2000 Server Domain. It has a bunch of other computers connected to it. I would like to if possible connect my linux to it and have it operate like a normal computer connected to a domain. If I am still too vague I will give you more information. Thanks.

from the Samba mailing list, has a solution related to Win2000 servers. There are updated docs available for 2003+ windows domains, too.....
