how to setup a linux as router?

Hi every one

it is one of my friends project to use a linux as a router that can accepts cisco commands to use it just like a router

we have found a software called gnu zebra that could be able to just do this
but I noticed their website is not available

one of the thing that it has to do is as followes
Quote:

Building an advanced router

If you have set up a Linux box as a firewall, you have

already built a simple Linux router. However, we’re

going to look at using Linux to build an advanced

router that can communicate using dynamic routing

protocols. These protocols allow routers to speak to

each other and share information of paths through a

network. This is incredibly important in large

networks (such as the Internet), where static routing

is impractical.
The above is what gnu zebra can do

I wanted to know if any body has any better software that can do so and is also active

Thanks

There are also a number of bsd based firewall distro's. There are also some good linux distro's for use as a firewall/gateway/vpn. I still seem to like Untangle but there are others.
