How to Set VLC Media Player as Default .wmv Player

If I first save a .wmv file sent to me as an email attachment, I can then play it with VLC Media Player. If I simply double-click the attachement, Totem Movie Player tries to play it. How do I set up VLC to be the default player for .wmv files? Is there some equivalent to WinXP's facility to associate a program with a file extension on my FC6 box?

Problem fixed. Right-click the saved file, select Properties and click the "Open With" tab. VLC media player is displayed as an option. Click this option to select this as the default playre for .wmv files.

If you are using KDE take "open in" in the right click menu take "other" and inside you can set it as default application
