How To Set Default Font Color For Thunderbird Composer
 

I am using Thunderbird 1.0 as my main email program. I love the program, but have been bedevilled by how to set the default font color it uses when I write a new email. It always uses black on white. Even though I can change this via the composition window, I would like to be able to make it default to blue on white. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

I don't use such a tool, the colored font, but in Tools>Options>Composition the bottom square has "configure default HTML options; and a box to click and there is where you can set a color for the font.
But I assume that this means that you can only use this when you send HTML and not plain text.
Seems like if you just want a visual cue as to what you wrote and what was written to you the using different font for reply would work just as well.

Frybyte, thanks so much. Nope, that is definitely NOT information that I previously had. I tried it and it worked like a charm. Not very obvious though, is it? You would think that under Preferences, Composition, they would have the font family, size and color all readily available. Instead, you have to set the font itself in the Fonts area, and the color in the very misleadingly named HTML options area of Composition. Even in the Fonts dialog, it is not clear what you are setting... I think a bit of GUI improvement is in order!
