How to run XFree86 config and kernal compile


What are the commands?

kernel compile:

download the source.
untar in /usr/src
"ln -s linux-"version number" linux"
cd linux
"make xconfig" or "make menuconfig"
choose what you want
save
"make clean"
"make"
"make modules_install"
"make install"

get the source from suse or use ftpmirror from www.kernel.org

you wanna configure your X? or configure the kernel with the X-interface? running "make xconfig" in an terminal will give you a graphical interface for your kernel configuration.
or X: isn't there a tool (yast) to config XFree86? i know of xf86config (or something like that).
