How to run mIRC in wine

Hello, I am new here and I wonder if any one of you might write the instructions on running mIRC in the wine windows emulator. I understand I should find a suitable native client. I understand xchat and bitchx and all of those other programs are GREAT. But would someone please write the instructions?
I am trying to learn my way around linux FC4 and it took me like a week and a half to install ndiswrapper and even that is still giving me problems. I figure learning how to implement wine would be a strong tool in learning to be more comfortable in this different ( but definatly better ) OS.

thanks a million !

( Is it just me, or do fonts look cooler in unix? )

How so? That would just allow you to get back to old habits. If you want to use linux then you need to use linux programs to do it properly. Xchat is exceptional and from memory (having used Mirc probably twice in my life), not that different. At any rate, open up a terminal, cd to the directory where the mirc setup file is and type this. I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Code:
wine mirc_setup.exe

a good question

the mirc installer file is called mirc16.exe ( I will try what you said with both filenames though )
In answer to your question ....

because it's always better to know, and having a more robust arsenal against ignorance is always a good thing. And how can I go back into bad habits when the only non windows habit i have is a desire to run linux?
