Smile how to resolve rpm dependencies offline ?

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hi,

I do not have an internet connection at home, and have to access the internet from an external computer running windows.

i have downloaded the files contained in :

Is it possible to use yum to resolve the dependencies of any software that i need ( using repodata files), before actually downloading the rpm's ; i.e locally, without net connection

same would apply for required files for updates ( using repodata from : "http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/updates/9/i386/repodata/").

Also for rpmfusion repo's ..

Thanks in advance..

The /etc/yum.repos.d directory contains the repo files specifying the URL of the repos to fetch the repo data. It would be in these respective files that you would change the URL to look in a local directory rather than the web site for the repo data you downloaded.
